ABOUT FOOTPRINTS BEACHSIDE RECOVERY
Footprints Beachside Recovery, located in the breezy beach town of Treasure Island, Florida, offers outpatient programs to adults struggling with substance use disorder. The facility is one of 366 private nonprofit treatment centers in Florida, which make up a little more than half of all substance abuse facilities in the state. While clients may opt to live in gender-specific residences during day treatment, detox services are not available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment is individualized and combines 12-step methodology with evidence-based therapies. Clients participate in individual and group counseling, relapse prevention training, and addition education, along with holistic activities such as yoga, acupuncture, massage, equine therapy, and expressive arts therapy.
There are also specialized groups for clients with co-occurring disorders, as well as gender-specific and trauma-informed groups. Footprints Beachside Recovery is one of 293 facilities in Florida (about 41%) to offer special programming for trauma.
Day treatment, also known as the partial hospitalization program (PHP), provides 27 hours of treatment each week, including a minimum of two individual therapy sessions. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers a minimum of three hours of programming a day, five days per week in either the daytime or evening. General outpatient treatment includes one or two hours per week of group or individual therapy.
The treatment team includes a medical doctor and a psychiatric nurse practitioner, as well as licensed clinical social workers and therapists, technicians, an acupuncture physician, a licensed and registered dietician/nutritionist, and a yoga instructor.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Clients participating in the PHP may choose to live in gender-separate residences offering a total of 15 beds. Length of stay can last anywhere from 30 to 90 days. Rooms are semi-private and clients receive constant support from on-site staff at the homes.
