  • Medical Detoxification

Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.
  • Dual Diagnosis/ Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.

Located in balmy West Palm Beach, Fla., Life Solutions provides outpatient recovery services to individuals who are struggling with substance abuse issues. Ambulatory detox is offered on-site, and clients may opt for intensive outpatient (IOP) programming or partial hospitalization (PHP). For those requiring a residential environment or higher level of care, Life Solutions refers individuals to its partner inpatient facilities in the area.

In all programs, patients can expect a mix of individual psychotherapy, group therapy, SMART Recovery activities, and 12-step work. Partial hospitalization, also referred to as Day/Night treatment, is the highest level of care offered. Those enrolled in PHP also take part in addiction education and behavioral exercises, and have access to additional amenities such as chiropractic care, yoga, massage therapy, and mindfulness activities. Average duration of treatment is 30 days.

The IOP program provides a moderate level of treatment by combining group and individual counseling. The primary goal of IOP treatment is to help clients adapt to a sober lifestyle and transition to mainstream functionality. Duration of IOP treatment varies by client.
