ABOUT TALBOTT RECOVERY

Talbott Recovery operates several locations that address the needs of individuals struggling with mental health conditions and substance abuse. The Atlanta-based campus provides a full continuum of substance abuse treatment services for adults, including detox services, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), and transitional living. Note that detox is offered through Anchor Hospital on the Talbott Recovery Atlanta campus.

The center also offers specialized treatment tracks for young adults (ages 18 to 25), professionals, and clients with co-occurring disorders. Within the state, Talbott Recovery is among 16.1 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities that offer a PHP, 34.9 percent with an IOP, and 49.3 percent with special programs for clients with co-occurring disorders.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

At Talbott Recovery, treatment starts with a consultation by an intake specialist. Clients participate in an initial assessment including a medical history review. Admissions specialists are available around-the-clock and, as such, clients can enter the programs following the results of the assessments.

Treatment consists of a complete mental and behavioral health examination following detox treatment, if applicable.
Talbott Recovery's programming entails group and individual therapy, educational and life skills groups, an introduction to 12-step principles, as well as medication management, as needed. Wellness training also is used to promote full mind, body, and spiritual improvement.

Specialized treatment programs are available for certain groups of clients. For example, the center runs programs for professionals, pilots, and families. Each track combines tailored counseling with support programs. Confidentiality is a major component of these offerings.

During the final stage of treatment, called “Mirror Image,” clients visit substance abuse treatment facilities and work with peers who are in the early stages of recovery. According to the center’s website, this practice combats the “myopia that often accompanies the disease of addiction.” During this phase, clients continue to participate in groups and receive treatment.

Family participation is encouraged, and the facility offers a family counseling program. Clients are encouraged to participate in family counseling and community-based treatment programs to support sober living. An alumni group is also available.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The team at Talbott Recovery includes a physician, psychiatrist, addiction medicine physician, nurses, therapists, assessment coordinator, spiritual counselor, and others.
