Treatment Philosophy
New Season Treatment Center provides opioid addiction treatment and recovery in Augusta and the surrounding metropolitan area. Our team of opioid addiction professionals are led by a doctor and work with each patient to formulate a custom plan that meets their specific needs. Services are outpatient, meaning that the patient can continue to recover while continuing their daily activities like work, schooling and home care uninterrupted. Our Services for Opioid Addiction Treatment: - Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) - such as methadone, buprenorphine or Suboxone to address withdrawal symptoms and cravings - Counseling: individual one-on-one, group and family - Medically supervised withdrawal - Medical exams to ensure safety - Convenient outpatient services - Referrals - Confidentiality - Take-home benefits after meeting key criteria Opioid Addiction Treatment in Augusta Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), in combination with counseling, is the most effective program to recover from opioid dependence as it treats a person’s physiological as well as psychological components of addiction. This approach addresses both legal and illicit opioids such as codeine, morphine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, propoxyphene, heroin and fentanyl. One of the strong advantages of MAT is that the individual learns to recover and heal without the requirement to leave work, family or social obligations. The added benefit of participating in treatment while continuing regular life activities is that the patient learns to work within their present circumstances. By contrast, patients that are removed from their environment for treatment must still learn how to cope and properly respond to stimuli associated with past behavior. MAT is a low-cost option when compared to the high cost of continued illegal drug use, inpatient or residential treatment, or the high relapse rates associated with programs that do not work for the individual. Methadone Methadone is a medication used as part of a comprehensive Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. Methadone is an FDA-approved, highly studied and regulated medication used to help individuals recover from opioid addiction. Decades of research shows methadone to be highly effective in treating patients by stopping withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Methadone acts as a stabilizer in the body rather than as an opioid drug that is used for its euphoric effects. When taken as prescribed, methadone helps patients function physically, emotionally and intellectually without impairment. Methadone does not produce mood swings, drowsiness or narcotic effects. By contrast, painkillers and heroin destabilize individuals and lead them to many risk behaviors that have severe consequences. Buprenorphine and Suboxone Approved for clinical use since 2002, both buprenorphine and Suboxone are medications used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes counseling and participation in social support programs. At the appropriate levels, both buprenorphine and Suboxone are safe and effective. Both have several benefits including lowering the potential for misuse, and suppressing opioid withdrawal and craving symptoms. Studies indicate that buprenorphine is equally as effective as lower doses of methadone, however, it is not as effective for patients with higher levels of physical dependency where methadone is a better option to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Addiction Counseling Counseling is the key to achieving long-lasting success. It helps patients understand the nature of addiction as a disease, the effects of the disease on the brain and their behaviors. Through counseling, individuals explore why they became addicted, what triggers are associated with addiction and ways to establish resilient plans that will make improvements across all areas of their lives. Counselors in individual, group and family settings, help patients learn how to better cope with stress, handle setbacks and loss and find new ways of improving. Patients reap better results for enduring success when they dedicate the appropriate amount of time to counseling in addition to Medication-Assisted Treatment. Treatment Philosophy
Oxford Treatment Center is a 110 acre campus located within the Holly Springs National Forest. With a 5-acre lake, ducks, geese and beautiful undisturbed forest land, the rural setting at Oxford Treatment Center offers a tranquil healing environment. Our approach to addiction treatment is a holistic one, seeking to restore hope and health to individuals who come to us out of painful, self-destructive patterns. It’s not enough to end a physical dependency through successful medical detox. On the other side of that first step, the individual in recovery must have the right support in place to break those old habits and replace them with new ones. He or she must find a new way to fill the void that drugs or alcohol once did — essentially, find a new meaning in life. At Oxford Treatment Center, our team of dedicated professionals consists of a medical director, a board certified addictions psychiatrist, a board certified internist, and 6 board certified nurse practitioners. The most unique hallmark of our team of medical providers is an average of 8 year tenure at Oxford Treatment Center. The medical provider cohort is proud of the stability and commitment it provides to our patients.

Teen Challenge - Middle Georgia's Men's Center

I graduated from Teen Challenge Middle Georgia six years ago. I feel like saying "I'm clean" is ridiculously inadequate to describe the level of freedom I now live in. I entered the program as a daily intravenous user of opioids and stimulants, yet I left the program addicted to nothing. I also had almost no material possessions, only a pile of student loans and a commitment to do well at whatever God put before me. I now have an awesome, godly wife. I own a successful multi-state business, own a home and other real estate with no debt. I host a weekly bible study in that home, and actively seek to spread the good news of the freedom Jesus Christ offers to every kind of sinner. Do I say this to brag on myself? Heck no, every good thing in my life is from God and it all still belongs to him. I tell you these things to do two things: first, to boast about how God has miraculously transformed my life from misery and needles in my arms, to contentment and joy! Secondly, to give credit to the institution that provided the structure and opportunity to choose the obedience to the Lord that leads to life. I've heard the complaints of those students who wanted to run their own lives, and the whines of family members who could not let go of their codependent role. "Too much work, not enough counseling" or "too much judgment, not enough God." All of these complaints are the excuses of those who are unwilling to see to completion the difficult and often painful task of changing. I've said the same things, I've been one of those people. I feel compassion for them. But I was sickened by the thought that a family might miss an opportunity to see God transform their loved one because of people who are only passionate about being negative. They have the fruit of that heart, while so many others like myself and my family have fruit of a different kind. Life in Christ! No drug addiction, no depression, no worrying about death or prison! My parents didn't just get "the old Justin back" like they thought they wanted. Instead they got a new son, who would be a hard worker, become a good husband, and one who honors God! Is Teen Challenge Middle Georgia perfect? Of course not, the budget is tight, facilities sometimes wanting, staffing is difficult, and it's run by human beings. But God uses it to transform the men who are willing to see it through. And he blesses the families that are willing to say "no son, press though." That is the bottom line. I am in contact with many men who are proof of that, just like myself. You can do it, there is hope for the hopeless!

Bluff Augusta

After more than five years of struggling, we found Bluff and we finally found the help we'd been seeking. I cannot say enough good things about Bluff, the staff, or the program. From the admissions staff to the discharge staff and everyone in between, this facility is top notch. We are now returning to normal and will be eternally grateful to the staff and program of Bluff Plantation.
