If you want help Help can be found here. You get out what you put into anything. Teen Challenge has changed my life and the lives of many of my friends. The center in Dublin has a great team of people who serve and care for the students there and work with the families to overcome what addiction has done to them. Students do learn some useful skills that will help them after the program. They have devotions and morning chapel M-F with Classes and bible study in the evening. they also work with local Detox, mental health, and other community services providing complete and balanced care. Dealing with addiction is messy and these people aren't afraid to get messy to see you or your loved ones get clean and free.
There needs to be more focus on getting to the root of your addiction and why you are an addict as opposed to just working a program. Yea you can be taught to work a program but until you get to the root of the problem will you then be able to learn from and change your behavior. It was good that they were very strict on group participation efforts and would not let anyone stay in bed during group or recreational times. However, they didn't seem to be to good at roommate placement.
Its a nice facility with a staff that cares about long term sobriety. Faith is strongly encouraged in the steps to recovery. Spiritual awakenings is vital to long term recovery. The atmosphere and environment is beneficial. More staff is needed at times.
