ABOUT GATEWAY FOUNDATION—SPRINGFIELD OUTPATIENT
Gateway Foundation is an addiction network with 17 locations across Illinois, Delaware, and California. The Springfield, Ill. treatment center treats both co-occurring mental health disorders and addiction in adults, but also offer treatment to adolescents in some cases. It is one of 372 Illinois facilities that offer mental health services.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Springfield is one of several Gateway Foundation outpatient centers. This location helps adults and adolescents coping with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders utilizing evidence-based treatment and also facilitates 12-Step treatment.
Springfield offers individual, group, and family therapies. The center focuses on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), specifically, buprenorphine. It is among the roughly 32 percent of Illinois facilities to prescribe buprenorphine in some manner.
The Springfield location also has an alumni program.
Springfield has a full staff of psychiatric and medical professionals, as do all facilities under the purview of the Gateway Foundation
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Springfield’s web site does not discuss accommodations, however, photos of its facilities show a large building with modern amenities on the backend of a massive parking lot. It also has a game room with modern conventions and comfortable seating.

A general Facebook page for Gateway Foundation shows 12 reviewers rated it an 8.2 out of 10.  Most reviews were positive, with alums praising the staff, amenities, and effectiveness of treatment.
“The Gateway is a great way to start over , and put your Alcohol or Drug problem behind you and start over one day at a time I would tell anyone trying to do that for themselves this is the place to be I promise you,” one alum wrote.
Gateway Foundation facilities, including Springfield, accept Medicaid, placing them among the 52 percent of Illinois facilities to do so. The Springfield location also accepts state-financed health insurance plans, military insurance (TRICARE), and private health insurance.
