Facility Highlights

  • We can accept patients the same day for treatment.
  • Patients stop using their abused drug the same day.
  • We specialize in opiate and heroin addiction.

  • Client & Family Support Groups

Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.
  • Medical Detoxification

Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.

Rehabs 360 Guide

Brightside Clinic, located in Tinley Park, Ill., offers outpatient treatment including counseling and medication-assisted therapy to adults and adolescents struggling with opiate addiction. Brightside Clinic focuses on treating clients who are dependent on pain medication and heroin. Brightside Clinic also offers a program to provide prescriptions for Naloxone, a life-saving medication that can reverse an opiate overdose. The facility also operates a second location in Northbrook, Ill.

In order to initiate treatment, clients schedule an appointment to meet with a doctor at the clinic, complete paperwork, and schedule counseling sessions. At the time of admission, staff work with the client to verify insurance coverage for treatment. Clients then receive their prescription from a pharmacy and return to the clinic one week later to complete a medical compliance test. As treatment progresses, clients meet with the physician on a monthly basis as long as they continue to take the medication. During this maintenance phase, the clinic recommends that clients take part in counseling or group therapy offered at the clinic or seek continued treatment through another community treatment program such as an intensive outpatient program (IOP).

Brightside Clinic offers a SMART Recovery support group to assist clients in their recovery. SMART Recovery stands for Self Management for Addiction Recovery and is a tool utilizing evidence based practices taught in a free, self-empowering group setting. The group teaches clients to build and maintain motivation, cope with urges, manage thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and live a balanced life.

Brightside Clinic offers medication assisted therapy including Suboxone, Zubsolv, Bunavail, and Subutex to help eliminate cravings associated to withdrawal. Clients may remain in treatment anywhere from six months to a lifetime depending on their prior dependence on opiates and their long term goals.

The adolescent treatment program is similar to the adult program but is more specific to the needs of a younger person, taking into consideration that their brains are still developing which makes it more difficult for them to understand the consequences of addiction. Family involvement is an integral part of the treatment program and counseling is designed to coach both the teen and the family for life without opiate abuse. Adolescents are first stabilized on the medication dose before counseling begins. As the program continues and progress is made in counseling, the client’s medication is slowly tapered and both the client and the family are coached for maintenance.

The treatment team includes medical doctors. There is no additional information provided by the facility regarding other treatment staff.
