  • Marital and Family Counseling
  • Recovery Education
  • Case Management

  • 12-Step

The term “12 Step Program” describes a way to recover from addiction that is based on the model developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Many drug and alcohol treatment centers base their treatment on 12 steps – the first three of which are situational, the next four addressing the practical issues created by the addiction, followed by two steps focused on making amends for hurting others. Steps 10 and 11 involve a deeper examination of the previous steps and the final step is focused on helping others avoid and recover from addiction.
  • Individualized Treatment

Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.

Rehabs 360 Guide

Located in rural Willisburg, Ky., Isaiah House offers Christian faith-based addiction and recovery treatment for adult men. The facility is one of 48 that offers long-term residential options in Kentucky. The facility also offers outpatient services and a specialized and non-medical detox program.

Isaiah House offers two long-term residential options: a 100-day program and a long-term program that ranges from eight to 11 months. Treatment at Isaiah House is heavily faith-based using Celebrate Recovery, a Christian-focused, Bible-based 12-Step recovery program. The 12-Step program is used in nearly 48% of all U.S. treatment facilities and is a preferred method among faith-based organizations.

The process begins with a medical evaluation to determine if clients are healthy enough to begin treatment. After a medical evaluation, most clients begin treatment by entering into the social detox program, which is called “Foundation.” The program, which lasts 37 days, is non-medical and includes weekly one-on-one counseling and participation in large group Celebrate Recovery meetings.

The core residential program, dubbed “Restoration,” typically lasts 100 days. It is a long-term program where clients undergo treatment in an immersive and restrictive environment. The program separates clients from their lives in order to sever ties with anything that contributes to their addiction. However, clients are awarded special privileges after 30 days in the program.

Isaiah House uses a combination of holistic, faith-based, and work therapy methods to treat addiction, as well as individual, group, and family counseling and CR group meetings to promote community involvement.

A longer-term residential program is also offered that lasts up to 11 months. In addition to core programming, clients in the program track participate in educational courses focused on relapse prevention and vocational training. When able, clients work for the facility’s work programs performing landscaping and construction work. Only 38.6% of Kentucky facilities provide vocational training in treatment.

The treatment center also offers outpatient programs to clients who are ready for a lower level of care. Programming in the outpatient program includes individual, family, group, couples, and crisis counseling. Individualized treatment plans, case management, 12-step programs, psychological testing, recovery skill workshops, evaluations, and relapse prevention classes are all incorporated into outpatient programming.

The treatment team at Isaiah House includes a licensed professional counselor associate and a licensed professional clinical counselor. Isaiah House is one of the 19% of facilities accredited by the Joint Commission.

The facility is situated in a residential area and offers simply furnished, dorm-style bedrooms. During their stay, clients are expected to help maintain the facility by performing household chores.
