After detox at McLean hospital, I was homeless & very afraid to go to a shelter. My thoughts were still racing & I wanted to leave the hospital to continue drinking & drugging. Going to Naukeag was one active step for my recovery because it gave me more time to stabilize my meds & my anxiety. The staff at both McLeans/Nuakeag were all exceptional. I highly recommend it. I did have to wait for a detox bed which was hard but I stayed persistent calling them at least 2/3 times per day. McLeans helped save my life & they are experts at addiction & mental illness, which is the same thing.
When I got to RCA, I was't sure what to expect. After a couple of days I knew I was in the right place.I was made to feel right at home by the staff AND the other patients.Everyone involved with RCA is extremely knowledgeable and caring. The place is a 5 star hotel. extremely clean. the food is great!(many choices). This facility is not just about sobriety,it is about changing your whole way of life and the way you think about yourself, finding a power greater than yourself to guide you. Everyone at RCA, especially the RSS's really had my best interest and that of my peers at heart The only issue I might possibly address, is that communication at times between management to staff could be a little more consistent. 5 STARS+++. Treats patients with dignity, Tries their best to get patience into continued treatment planning. As accommodating as they can be in their means Bigger facility needed. Extended stays for longer support The facility has too many insurance hoops and too little options to plan for long term rehabilitation. Seems to be more of a long term stabilization unit that rehabilitation
