ABOUT NORTHEAST ADDICTIONS TREATMENT CENTER
Located blocks from the Town River Bay in the eastern Quincy suburb of south Boston, Northeast Addictions Treatment Center (NEATC) offers interventions and outpatient care at a variety of intensities for adults struggling with addiction. The facility also can assess and treat co-occurring disorders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
NEATC does not subscribe to a single treatment philosophy; rather, the organization tailors its array of methodologies to suit the individual client, including evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), and internal family systems (IFS) therapy; 12-step immersion; and recovery coaching.
Clients engage in therapy in individual, group, and family or couple's settings. Holistic offerings include mindfulness and art therapy, and the facility is equipped to provide trauma-focused therapy.
The most intensive level of care is a day treatment program or partial hospitalization program (PHP), though the facility does not presently provide specific details. Within the state, NEATC is one of 32 PHP/day treatment programs at substance abuse treatment facilities.
The next step down is an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which involves attending three-hour sessions at least three times a week, and is among 19.7 percent of IOPs at substance abuse treatment facilities in Massachusetts. The standard outpatient program (OP) requires attendance at least once per week. Aftercare includes referrals for further services as well as housing, job, and educational resources.
In the state of Massachusetts, NEATC is among 28.2 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities accredited and certified by The Joint Commission. The treatment staff includes an MD who's board certified in both internal and addiction medicine, a master’s level clinical supervisor, primary therapists, and case managers.

A majority of these reviewers attributed treatment here with saving their life, expressed in a representative review as: ”The staff and programming were amazing. The people at Northeast literally saved my life and went above and beyond for me and my family. I would not be where I am today as a father, husband and son without Northeast.”
Reviewers commended the “level of care,” the “caring, kind, staff,” considered the program “12-step based treatment done right,” and an environment that “went above and beyond to cater to my needs.” Two alumni offered dissenting views, both claiming they were lied to in order to get them into treatment; one referred to staff as “rude and dishonest” and the other shared: "They told me it was a strong 12 step program but it is not.”
On secondary sites, NEATC received largely favorable coverage to date: 4.9 out of five stars based on 45 reviews on Google; 3.5 stars based on five reviews on Yelp; and 4.9 stars based on 34 reviews on Facebook, which the organization can manage.

I would recommend this place to all those who are serious about their recovery. The staff and program is top notch.”
