The staff members are very helpful and understandign Old building I can only say good things about a forever recovery. They have a clients is first attitude, and they will do anything for their clients. I really have nothing negative to say about this place. Maybe the only thing is that it is in a rather old building but it is well kept a d maintained so it is really not an issue. I liked the fact that there were quite a few staff who had a similar experience to mine, and I would have never though of. They were them example that you can do well and come off of drugs with their method. I quite enjoyed their holistic methods, it is a bit unusual, well not so much since there are other centers who too have these methods, so it was nice. I am all for spirituality and I felt like I went to the right place, and they actually could hook me up with a program that respected my views. I wasn't forced to do a program that I did not like, so that was good. I had great peers and we had each others back when needed. I fell like this program was very beneficial to me and I feel like that this time was the last time I went to rehab, I can handle it now.
They have years in operation but limited size and lots of experience.
Going to Serenity Point Recovery saved my life. I started using drugs in general when I was 13 but didn’t start using heroin until I was 20. I didn’t go through a period of just using it sometimes or develop a habit gradually over time. The first time I took it I wanted more and that was that. I was hooked. I went to 2 different rehabs before Serenity and the whole time I was at them I couldn’t wait to get out so I could get high again. I didn’t want to be clean and knew I was going to relapse right away. When I first got to Serenity it was the same thing. I just wanted to finish the program so I could leave and go get high again. It was in the 2nd week there that I was able to take a real and honest look at my life and see how truly awful my life had become and know that if I continued on that path it would just get worse. Going to Serenity changed everything for me. I learned so much while I was there and was able to understand myself and what had led to my addiction in the first place. I learned how to control my emotions better and how to talk to my family without ending up in screaming match with them. I graduated from Serenity 6 months ago and I hadn’t slipped up once. The staff at Serenity were incredibly patient with me and have helped me deal with more issues than I thought I had. I wouldn’t still be clean if it wasn’t for them.
