ABOUT PHOENIX RECOVERY PROGRAMS — MANKATO
Phoenix Recovery Programs is a private nonprofit organization with multiple locations that provides adolescents and young adults with treatment for substance use disorder. It's among the 20.8 percent of facilities in Minnesota to offer specialized treatment for adolescents, and among the 18.8 percent of facilities in the state to provide specialized treatment for young adults.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The center’s abstinence-based treatment approach is based on the 12-Steps, and supplemented by evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational enhancement therapy (MET).
Clients participate in group and individual therapy, as well as relapse prevention training and anger management workshops. The center also urges families to get involved in the treatment process, which may include family counseling, educational classes, and discharge planning.
The program also offers education on health (e.g., diet, exercise, and nutrition suggestions), family dynamics, and goal setting, as well as groups for clients with co-occurring disorders. The program is among the 51.1 percent of facilities in the state to offer specialized treatment for dual diagnosis.
In the Mankato office outpatient program (OP), clients attend school on-site from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. under the auspices of the local school district and then go to lunch and the community center. They participate in therapy groups in the afternoon. The OP is held on a 90-day cycle.
