Rehabs 360 Guide

Located 20 miles south of downtown Las Vegas in Henderson, Nev., Seven Hills Hospital is a behavioral health hospital offering psychiatric and substance misuse treatment for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Addiction treatment includes medical detox, medication management, residential programs, and outpatient care. According to a 2018 SAMHSA survey, only 11.1 percent of rehabs in Nevada offer detox in a hospital setting.

Detoxification may be the first phase of care depending on each client's individual needs. Medical professionals monitor this process 24 hours a day, seven days each week. This program is available for adolescents, adults, and seniors.

Clients at the facility follow an individualized program put together under the supervision of a psychiatrist. The facility uses a variety of therapies built around the 12-Steps. Treatment options include psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), medication management, exercise, nutrition, group and family therapy. Family therapy is offered in both individual and group settings.

Outpatient options consist of a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP), programs offered by 11.1 and 54.3 percent of rehabs in Nevada, respectively. Both programs are held on weekday mornings with an average treatment length of two weeks.

The facility offers a dedicated treatment track for adolescents (ages 11 to 17) that includes treatment for phobias, cutting, and eating disorders. Similarly, treatment for seniors offers programs for obsessive compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, and more.

The team is led by a staff of psychiatrists, and also includes physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, licensed addiction counselors, and recreational therapists. Seven Hills Hospital is among the 18.5 percent of rehabs in Nevada that is certified by the Joint Commission. The six individuals surveyed by Rehabs.com to date gave high ratings to the staff's experience and training.

Staff Experience and Training: 4.3/5

The facility offers 58 beds in double occupancy rooms, plus food prepared by an on-site chef. Free daily transportation plus lunch and snacks are available for outpatient clients. The six individuals polled by Rehabs.com on the matter gave cleanliness high ratings, while five individuals surveyed gave high ratings to exercise and leisure options.

Cleanliness: 4.7/5
Exercise and Leisure: 4.4/5

Offering mostly positive feedback, of the 14 alumni reviews received by Rehabs.com to date, ten were highly positive, one was neutral, and four were highly negative. Positive reviewers tended to focus on the staff, treatment effectiveness, and leisure activities. "Employees were a strength. Lots of activities," one anonymous loved one wrote in a representative review. The four individuals surveyed on more granular metrics left ratings that reflected these sentiments:

Would Recommend: 4.8/5
Staff Experience and Training: 4.8/5
Holistic Offerings: 4/5

Negative reviews, however, contradicted these claims. In a representative negative review, alum S. wrote, "This place is a joke! Poorly run with inept counselors!"

On secondary review sites, reviews were mixed. On Google, the hospital as a whole earned an average rating of 2.5 out of five stars based on 115 reviews.[1] Meanwhile, on Facebook, where the facility's staff may manage reviews, the hospital held an average rating of 3.4 stars as of this writing.

Reviews from five loved ones surveyed by Rehabs.com to date were mostly negative. Numerous reviewers criticized the staff while several criticized the food and the lack of ability to communicate with their loved one. In a representative review, F.H. wrote "I’ve called 16 times and did not get through to my daughter to talk to her about her daily progress,"

The lone reviewer to leave a neutral review, P., cited the 12 step model, medical staff, and detox medications as strengths. Though he said his friend spoke highly of the program, he also wrote that he wished that they did not let him leave right after detox, as he relapsed shortly thereafter.

According to its website, Seven Hills accepts Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, and several private insurance plans. The six individuals surveyed by Rehabs.com to date on the matter felt that the programs were affordable.

Affordability: 4.5/5
