We work in conjunction with Rise Above, a sober-living community, so you can grow with us for as long as you need. We facilitate the transition into your new life on every level.     These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.

    Animal therapy (also called animal-assisted therapy and pet therapy) supports recovery and emotional wellbeing by helping people develop relationships with animals. Animal therapy can be a one-time or ongoing experience.

    Christopher DiNicola is a recovery coach, a recovery advocate, and most importantly, a man in long term recovery for over 13 years. Chris is the co-founder of Rise Above Recovery Housing, Revive Recovery Resource Center, as well as The Process Recovery Center. Chris is living proof that not only can you get clean but stay clean and move forward to chase dreams and build a beautiful life. Recovery led Chris into pursuing his first passion dance which led him into traveling the world dancing professionally to eventually perform on America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV as well as 106 and Park on BET. Chris has performed for the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, artists such Chris Brown, JAY Z and many more. Chris owns and operates with his two younger brothers a very successful dance studio in Massachusetts. After experiencing a life beyond his wildest dreams due to recovery, Chris has dedicated his life to this sad and awful drug epidemic. Chris has spoken all up and down the east coast to help spread awareness as well as motivate those in need to seek and get help. Chris has spoken at many 12 step recovery conventions through out New England and to this very day continues to attend 12 step recovery meetings as well as sponsoring and helping so many people struggling with substance use disorder. Chris has dedicated his life to standing on the front lines against this deadly disease and using his life experiences and successes to help open up the minds of the struggling, to again believe that a beautiful, wonderful life free of active addiction is again possible. With all of his achievements the one that makes him the most grateful on a daily basis is the fact that he has freed his Mother of the mental torture she went through with his addiction and for 13 consecutive years given her the peace of mind she prayed for everyday while he was sick. His main goal is to help others give that beautiful gift to their loved ones too.

    Justin Etling is the CEO of the Process Recovery Center in Hudson, NH. While Justin has a background in the business world, his passion is working side by side with people on their recovery journeys. In 1997 Justin entered recovery at just 17 years old, he has since been committed to living a life of recovery and personal growth and spreading a message of hope for over 20 years. Justin’s mission is to find innovative ways to prevent the resurgence of drug and alcohol misuse and to improve long-term recovery statistics. This quest lead Justin to become a founding member of Rise Above sober living and to open a treatment center. Meditation and positive visualization are crucial elements of Justin’s recovery message. By using these skills in his own life, Justin tirelessly creates new platforms for advocacy, reform, family outreach, and early intervention. When Justin isn’t dreaming up new ways to save lives, he enjoys hitting the golf course, watching the Celtics, and spending time with his daughters.

Positioning itself as having “a true devotion to recovery,” The Process Recovery Center is located near the mountains and ocean in Hudson, N.H. Founded in 2015, the facility offers individuals struggling with substance abuse a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) with broad integrative holistic and evidence-based care.

Sober living accommodations can be arranged for clients participating in these services. Within the state, The Process Recovery Center is one of four (6 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities in New Hampshire that offer a PHP and one of 15 with an IOP. Detox services are not available, but this facility is one of 21 (31.3 percent) substance abuse treatment facilities in New Hampshire that provides Vivitrol.


At The Process Recovery Center, clients initiate admission with a telephone screening. Once enrolled, they participate in one-on-one and group therapy, family therapy, recovery meetings, education, and life skills training.

Among the modalities practiced are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and the motivation-oriented Matrix Model, which is offered at 43.3 percent of treatment facilities in New Hampshire and incorporates 12-step concepts and drug testing. Treatment is also trauma-informed.

Among holistic offerings are yoga, mindfulness exercises, and nutritional counseling. Clients also are encouraged to participate in various sober recreational activities arranged by the center. The individualized treatment plans include extensive aftercare planning. The facility's alumni program features monthly meetings.


Within the state, The Process Recovery Center is one of two (three percent) substance abuse treatment facilities accredited by The Joint Commission. The Executive Director of The Process Recovery Center is in recovery, as are some staff members. The treatment team members include master’s-level therapists, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, a registered nurse, and licensed alcohol and drug counselors (LADC).


At The Process Recovery Center, treatment takes place in a multi-story, home-like facility set in the woods next to the Merrimack River, close to downtown Nashua. The website touts the site's ease of accessibility from southern New Hampshire and Boston. Photographs show a charming, well-kept structure with lots of natural lighting, plush furnishings, a pool table and a large media screen. Sober living homes vary in amenities.


At the time of this writing, three former clients who reviewed The Process Recovery Center for Rehabs.com submitted highly favorable feedback. All considered their outcome a success, awarding the maximum five stars to treatment effectiveness. They also held the staff in high esteem for their caring, competence, and friendly attitude.

In describing the program, two alum used the word “wonderful.” Two also attributed the rehab with helping them achieve life-changing/life-saving results. “This place saved my life! If it wasn’t for the staff, I don’t know if I would be where I’m at today,” an alum wrote.

On secondary sites, The Process Recovery Center received outstanding positive coverage to date: perfect five stars based on 73 reviews on Google; and 4.9 out of five stars based on 39 reviews on Facebook, which the organization may manage. Two loved ones who submitted reviews of The Process Recovery Center to Rehabs.com to date provided mixed opinions. L.M. highlighted the strong and appealing aspects of the staff, including their dedication, experience, and training. “Top notch therapy. Recreation activities were well planned and consistent,” they wrote.

The other reviewer, an anonymous reviewer, rated treatment effectiveness two out of five stars and wrote: “Clients go without med treatment follow up and.they don't seem to care.when family members check in. They dont reply.”


Two staff members provided highly positive reviews of The Process Recovery Center to Rehabs.com to date, awarding the maximum five stars for affordability, counseling options, facility cleanliness and upkeep, family participation, and safety and comfort. “A place that truly cares,” one staff member wrote.


At the time of this writing, The Process Recovery Center accepts insurance from more than 50 carriers, including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Humana, MultiPlan, and United Healthcare. It also reports that payment plans can be arranged.
