ABOUT SERENITY AT SUMMIT UNION
Serenity at Summit operates five treatment facilities throughout New Jersey, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Located in Union, N.J., Serenity at Summit Union is one of the 46 (13.4 percent) of New Jersey treatment facilities that offers residential treatment to individuals who are struggling with substance use. The treatment center also offers detox and outpatient services including intensive outpatient treatment.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to Serenity at Summit's website, the treatment center offers a full continuum of treatment including medically-supervised detox. Treatment begins with an initial assessment, which is used to create an individualized treatment plan.
Clients in the detox program participate in mindful meditation sessions, check-ins, and educational groups. Programming also includes individualized counseling sessions, integrative movement, group sessions, and 12-step meetings. Holistic offerings offered includes acupuncture and reiki.
Following detox, clients transition to residential treatment or an outpatient programs. Residential treatment typically lasts between 30 and 90 days. Therapies available include behavioral, group and family counseling, life skills training, EMDR, expressive therapy, holistic therapy, and trauma therapy.

Serenity at Summit's website notes the treatment team includes therapists, nurse practitioners, and counselors. It is one of the 66 (19.2 percent) of New Jersey treatment centers that is accredited by The Joint Commission.
