About Asheville Recovery Center

The founders of the Asheville Recovery Center have experienced addiction and alcoholism themselves, and today they are grateful to live a life of recovery and to be able to give back to the community. Our drug addiction treatment center was founded on the principle that everyone who suffers from addiction has the right and the ability to achieve long-term recovery if they are given the tools necessary. At Asheville Recovery Center, we will identify your specific underlying issues, help you to solve them, and then teach you how to prevent running from those issues ever again. We are now In-Network with Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)!

My 20 year old son was in treatment there for less than 42 days. His time there was spent in group and individual therapy, playing volleyball, and gaming. He had to make his own meals so therefore he gained 20 -30 pounds eating junk. Nutrition is not a focus at this place. Communication at the beginning of his stay was terrible. Staff would make us feel badly if we asked any question or if we wanted to speak to our son. When we did talk to him, a staff member was always listening. Regarding mental health, he was discharged from there on 14 different medications. No exit plan was provided. It’s taken months to get his meds corrected. He’s still struggling with substance abuse. Please do not not send any young adult here.

A three-month stay at this facility saved my nephew's life. During his time at Asheville Recovery he was treated very respectfully and with kindness. He kept saying everyone is so nice! That, along with excellent counseling, classes, and fun activities followed by an excellent sober living home has allowed him to be the person he was intended to be. They teach good living skills as well. As it is in a real living situation, the residents have an apartment shared by one other person and they are responsible for their own groceries with a $75 allowance, cooking, laundry, and cleaning.

This center was most helpful out of many my son has been to. It taught him some of the skills needed to stay clean that other centers had not. They call and let you know often how the patient is and are very caring about the question you have. I would recommend, especially after my son has been in 5 different facilities before this one. Clayton was a huge help in the process. Thanks to all the staff for their hard work with my son.
