Men's Residential and Outpatient Treatment Center. Primary treatment at Prosperity Haven consists of a 30- to 90-day residential program. If a man comes to Prosperity Haven with substances in his system, he will be referred to a nearby medically-monitored detox program. Once detox is complete, he will transition directly into residential treatment at Prosperity Haven, which includes individual therapy, educational groups, process groups, lectures, and experiential groups such as hypnotherapy, music and art therapies, massages, hiking, and a range of other activities. As a man progresses through treatment, he will be stepped down to lower levels of care while still residing at our center until he is discharged back to his community into the care of therapists, groups, and outpatient support services near his home.

Prosperity Haven in Hambden, Ohio, serves men 18 and older dealing with substance use disorders. The center offers residential inpatient, standard outpatient and intensive outpatient programming (IOP); it is one of the 75 (18.5 percent) of Ohio facilities that offers long term, residential treatment services. Individuals needing detoxification will be referred to another facility.


Clients at Prosperity Haven will have a treatment plan developed from a medical and clinical assessment. The center only serves seven men at one time.

During the 30 to 90 day residential program, clients will participate in individual therapy, educational and process groups, and lectures. Holistic offerings at the center include art therapies, massages, and hiking.

Following residential treatment, clients will be referred to lower levels of care, which may include outpatient services or continuing to attend treatment at the center.


Prosperity Haven employs a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor, a board-certified physician and licensed substance abuse counselors. All substance abuse treatment facilities in Ohio have continuing education requirements for staff.


The home-like facility is settled on a 3,000-square foot secluded area surrounded by woodland. Official photographs retrieved from the facility’s website show a spacious living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a game room, and shared and single bedrooms. The center serves no more than seven men at one time, which is less than non-hospital based opioid treatment programs nationwide that usually have a higher median of 32 residential clients at any given time.


The two alumni of Prosperity Haven surveyed by Rehabs.com to date gave the center perfect five-star ratings for its treatment effectiveness and accommodations. One individual referred to the center as “very thorough” while the other noted that there were “very nice people to be around.”

Prosperity Haven accepts most private health insurance plans like 306 (75 percent) of treatment facilities in Ohio. Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted. The center also takes cash, check, wire transfers, and credit cards.
