Amazing staff. Who are patient, passionate, and understanding. Groups are always educational and fun safe environment. The sober living houses are very well maintained and located in good parts of Columbus.
Glenbeigh Truly changed my Life forever, I went in kicking and screaming along with very serious Denial . But within a few days that had all began to lift , along with the Heavy Fog of lifelong battling this addiction. The Staff are wonderful and the Counselors are Beyond Devoted. When I was discharged I had felt better then I have ever felt in my entire life. Yes some lessons are repeated, that is bc addiction doesn’t form overnight , it’s a practice to get there and it’s the same Type of reprogramming we did to our brains when in addictive addiction that needs to be undone in recovery , so yes we need to hear the same things said in many different ways until it clicks. Yes they Do Push AA/NA meetings for when we leave, and believe me the Counselors in recovery do the same to remain sober I have seen many at meetings myself. They are truly inspiring. Most Addicted people have other mental health issues that they need to address before leaving. Depression being most common. So Psychiatry is available to get one started on that path as well. They promote private therapy as well as Meetings and Outpatient. Let me be clear that they can’t stress enough that one must address all addictions and issues to stay centered and recovering. If one does this , goes to meetings, gets a higher power , works the steps , stays away from people, places and things. They WILL recover. Unfortunately many like to pick and choose what things to follow and that is what leads to relapse, along with complacency. Thinking they are unique in that they alone don’t need to do XXY. It is not the rehabs fault if one relapses. My Husband, Kids, siblings, parents , friends . They were all astonished in the change that had occurred to me in even as early as two weeks there . The security is top notch so is the nursing staff , Cafeteria staff , cleaning staff . My only issue I do agree with here in previous said comments was the floor counselors monitoring everyone can be pretty annoying and some get on a little power trip , but one talk with any other floor counselors there , and it’s fixed. I was fortunate enough to have a GB outpatient in my city, so I kept on Thriving in IOP (intense outpatient) along with the step down OP outpatient. By then one is pretty acclimated in AA or NA, and life stays pretty good. Also I must mention One staff member that had a Particularly Profound & Positive affect on my recovery, that staff is Brian Allison. The meetings / lectures , even just a short chat , were all so raw, intense & Honest. No more king or queen babies here ! Lol I have also had family as well as friends that have went here for treatment after me and they all have agreed with my Positive experience here ! Don’t let FEAR hold you back any longer like it did me!
Not my first attempt at sobriety, but this time it stuck. Good food and nutritional advice, caring staff. My individual counselor appreciated that I wanted to understand more about the underlying mental condition that contributed to my addiction. She provided me with 3rd party literature to assist me. As a smoker, I didn't want to tackle that at the same time. They let us take breaks and even provided cigarettes or alternatives such as the patch, for those in need. Although not created on site, I thought the food was excellent. I gained some much-needed weight. The staff allowed cliques to form and some individuals were left out, which, in my opinion, is a contributing factor in addiction.
