    Outpatient treatment describes all addiction treatment that is not residential. Patients live at home while undergoing rehab.

    Judy Voruz, MA, CADCII, MACFamily Counselor
    Judy Voruz is a family counselor who has specialized in helping families and individuals struggling with addiction since 1985. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and is an Oregon Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a nationally certified Masters Addiction Counselor. For five years, Judy served as a family counselor at the world-renowned Hazelden/Betty Ford Foundation, where she developed curriculum for their residential family program. Located in southern Oregon, toward the north of the city of Medford, Wise Caring is an individually operated, private counseling office for individuals and families struggling with substance use disorder. Wise Caring treats clients on an outpatient basis, using a proprietary treatment approach. It's one of the 30.5 percent of addiction treatment facilities in Oregon that operate as private for-profits, and one of 194 providers of standard outpatient treatment in the state.


Wise Caring's proprietary treatment method is called the Three Principles of Mind, Consciousness, and Thought. The center proposes that these three elements account for all addiction, and that by understanding and working with them, individuals can end their addiction.

Wise Caring appears to treat addiction only, positioning it among the 48.2 percent of Oregon-based facilities that do not offer special programming for dual diagnosis. The center encourages individuals to look at addiction as an opportunity to transform their lives for the better.

According to the facility's website, the approach is designed to instill significant changes in clients, including decreasing feelings of anger, fear, judgment, and powerlessness, along with a shift in how they view their loved ones and their addiction.

Wise Caring also emphasizes helping the families of people struggling with addiction to channel their love and help in the most productive way possible.Counseling Sessions can be conducted in person or via Skype.


The founder and sole therapist at Wise Caring has been working in the addiction field for more than 30 years. She has a master’s degree in counseling psychology and a masters certification in alcohol and drug counseling, and previously worked as a counselor at the Hazelden/Betty Ford Foundation.
