Residential Treatment
Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.

Meet the Staff
Jesse JamesProgram DirectorJesse has worked in the human services field for over 15 years, and brings a multitude of experience working within the field of addiction in residential, and outpatient treatment services. Jesse received his undergraduate degree in Human Development from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon. He later went on to complete his master’s degree in Organizational Management and Leadership. He has experience working with both adults and adolescents in residential and outpatient services providing substance abuse services. Prior to joining Beachside Recovery Portland, Jesse worked as the Clinical Director of an outpatient substance abuse and behavioral health facility. He has extensive group therapy experience, and he is comfortable utilizing a variety of group therapy approaches, and has specialized in the use of motivational interviewing. In addition to his clinical work, Jesse has management experience that spans a decade in executive roles. Jesse also served in the United States Navy and is very active as a Navy Veteran. Jesse is an integral part of our community and loves giving back to those seeking a change.- Kelly SandersonOperations ManagerKelly has worked in the recovery field for over 7 years, and in the medical field for over 15 years and brings experience working within the field of addiction in detox, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment services. Kelly received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon. Prior to joining Beachside Recovery Portland, Kelly worked as the Office/Billing Manager of a detox/residential/out patient dual diagnosis facility.

ABOUT BEACHSIDE PORTLAND
Located in the Hillsdale district of southern Portland, Ore., Beachside Portland offers luxury detox, residential, and outpatient treatment for individuals struggling with problematic substance use and dual diagnosis.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Beachside Portland's philosophy is: "To treat addiction is to treat its underlying causes." As such, all programs are individualized, with the aim of penetrating deep to the source of an individual's problematic substance use.
Beachside Portland offers clinical detox services, followed by residential treatment. Programming uses the building blocks of individual and group counseling and holistic care: the facility's website stresses the importance of holistic and exercise activities, to get vital neurotransmitters running in the brain. Beachside Portland's holistic options include yoga, meditation), art, music therapy, and hiking.
In addition to detox and residential treatment, Beachside Recovery offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and standard outpatient care. Like residential treatment, the IOP uses group and individual counseling and holistic activities, while clients enrolled for standard outpatient care are encouraged to participate in all of these modalities, but may choose whichever combination of methods works best for them.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The clinical director is a master's level therapist, and the team also includes a case manager working toward their alcohol and drug counselor certification.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Residents stay in modern, luxurious homes with full kitchens and comfortable sitting rooms with fireplaces. The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date gave Beachside Portland five-star ratings for its accommodations, and a four-star and a five-star rating for its meals and nutrition.
