Bowling Green Brandywine Treatment Center

1375 Newark Road, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, 19348
As our approach to treatment has changed over the years, our commitment to patient care has never wavered. Our treatment philosophy is predicated on the belief that chemical dependency is a highly treatable disease and can begin to be arrested through a multi-disciplinary treatment approach that utilizes medical, pharmacological, clinical, behavioral and 12-step interventions. Relapse prevention and discharge planning are also key components in the fight against the deadly disease of addiction. Our commitment to clinical excellence, cost-effective treatment programs, and innovation have made Bowling Green Brandywine a true leader in chemical dependency treatment field. We hold the distinction of being one of the only free-standing facilities in PA to treat pregnant females and were one of the first to utilize methadone maintenance as part of a treatment regimen.

Specialization

  • Family Program

Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.
  • Medical Detoxification

Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.

The staff does not do their job what so ever when a person is admitted they are supposed to keep an eye on them especially if their pregnant and once you're admitted they forget about you. Some of the staff were very kind but you could tell they had no personal experience dealing with them types of situations or people. Lack of support, security, nursing care, nourishing meals, and activities.

Do not go to this facility if you have mental health issues and are expecting individual counseling. I spent 9 days at this place and received not ONE one-on-one therapy session. I left against medical advice because they did not know how to treat my depression and anxiety. You will not receive individual care, \"small\" groups consist of around 10 people, they give you an hour or two of \"recreation time,\" AKA downtime, yet have no activities to do on campus besides sit in a room and watch music videos. Amenities are bare minimum for a rehab. Meals are one step above jail food, consisting of hot dogs, flavorless oatmeal, beans, and mashed potatoes nearly everyday. There is probably one staff member for every hundred patients, which results in daily physical fights and all-around chaos. If you suffer from anxiety, stay away. This place states to be specialized in dual-diagnoses, but there are way too many people to get the individual treatment that one with mental health issues needs. Bowling Green has failed me, but my recovery will continue elsewhere.
