Specialization

  • Family Program

Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.
  • Individualized Treatment

Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.

ABOUT LITTLE CREEK LODGE

Set in the mountains of Lake Ariel, Pa., Little Creek Lodge provides a long-term, transitional residential treatment program exclusively for men ages 18 to 28 struggling with chemical dependency. Residents must have been referred to the program via a reputable facility, already completed a 14 to 28-day treatment program prior to entry, and be fully detoxed upon admission. The facility also offers outpatient-based treatment programs.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

To treat its clientele, Little Creek Lodge combines evidence-based therapies, 12-step participation, and rigorous recreational activities. Each client works with counselors to develop treatment plans based on their needs, helping to ensure individualized treatment programming.

Little Creek Lodge provides three-stage treatment process, which begins with admissions and basic rehab education programs. The goal is to help clients understand their addictions and how to best progress in their recovery. The education component covers a wide range of topics, including grief, an introduction to 12-Step, and the overall recovery process.

In the second stage, clients focus on personal development and are introduced to a range of supportive components to help prevent relapse and promote self-sufficiency, including vocational training and participation in 12-Step.

During the second stage, clients are also introduced to activity-based and experiential treatments. These can include mountain biking, zip lining, kayaking, camping trips, and mountain skiing. Equine therapy, bi-weekly yoga and Thai Chi classes, as well as a variety of music-based therapies are also offered. A family program is also provided once a month to educate loved ones on the process of recovery.

Nearing the end of their treatment process, clients begin preparing for the transition process. Clients work with case managers to develop an aftercare program, which may include enrollment into an outpatient program and more specialized vocational training, a service offered in 38.6% of U.S. treatment facilities.
