ABOUT MALVERN INSTITUTE
First established in 1948, the Malvern Institute is an addiction treatment organization that operates six treatment facilities throughout Pennsylvania. The Institute's flagship facility in Malvern, Pa. offers those struggling with substance use inpatient treatment and detoxification. The Malvern Institute also provides various forms of outpatient, medication-assisted treatment, and aftercare at several of the organization's other facilities.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients begin the admissions process by calling the facility for a free benefits check. The facility’s treatment program, known as “The Malvern Model”, combines 12-step programming with a variety of other treatment modalities to create individualized plans for each client. Though treatment length varies, most clients remain in treatment for 90 days, putting the Malvern Institute among the 22.7 percent of treatment facilities in Pennsylvania that offer a long-term (30 days or more) residential program.
Clients at Malvern Institute participate in both group and individual therapy along with family therapy, psychoeducational sessions, and aftercare planning. Those who require medical detoxification may receive either Suboxone or Vivitrol to minimize the discomfort of withdrawal.
Families are included in the treatment program through a specialized program called the Recovery Oriented Community (ROC).
