Waddington Rehab Center

2681 Waddington Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15226
All of the staff at Waddington Rehab Center (WRC) shares the core belief that addiction is a treatable disease, not choices and recovery is a process that heals mind, body, and spirit. The more a person abuses, the more difficult it becomes to live without those substances, and he or she falls into a cycle that can ruin every aspect of life. Addressing this core, underlying issue is a process that allows the roots of the problems. WRC provides treatment through medical, psychological, spiritual and holistic means in order to treat the whole person. At our rehab center, we depart from institutional principle and have created a "therapeutic community" made up of loving and caring home where our clients disconnect from their addictions and reconnect to a higher presence. Our entire structure - from our beautiful facility to our delicious food and our loving staffs support a caring environment where participants are safe to share with other clients and staff members.

Specialization

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

The focus of cognitive behavioral therapy (also called CBT) is helping people to understand the thoughts and emotions that underlie their addiction with the goal of learning new, healthier and more productive ways to understand and express themselves.
  • 12-Step

The term “12 Step Program” describes a way to recover from addiction that is based on the model developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Many drug and alcohol treatment centers base their treatment on 12 steps – the first three of which are situational, the next four addressing the practical issues created by the addiction, followed by two steps focused on making amends for hurting others. Steps 10 and 11 involve a deeper examination of the previous steps and the final step is focused on helping others avoid and recover from addiction.
