ABOUT GREENBRIAR TREATMENT CENTER -WASHINGTON
Greenbriar Treatment Center offers both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse programs, as well as gender-specific halfway houses, throughout the state of Pennsylvania. The residential facility, which is based in Washington County, provides treatment for adult men and women, with an emphasis on treating co-occurring mental health disorders, one of 255 (50.8 percent) facilities in the state to do so. The facility is also one of the just 46 (9.2 percent) non-hospital treatment centers in the state where a detox unit is available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
After an initial assessment, clients are referred to either an intensive outpatient program - amongst the 256 (51 percent) of its kind in the state - or a residential treatment program - one of Pennsylvania's 143 (28.5 percent), - depending on their individual need. Treatment is similar at all facilities and consists mostly of individual and group therapy, family counseling, psycho-educational groups, and workshops on relapse prevention and recovery in the workplace.
Clients are also required to attend AA and NA meetings both on- and off-site, and encouraged to build sober support networks in the local community and obtain temporary sponsors. Graduates of the outpatient and residential programs are given priority admission to the facility’s halfway houses as an option for aftercare.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Dozens of alumni reviews compiled by Rehabs.com to date were mostly positive, with some exceptions. Alum Kayla: “I think that they should try different exercises and group strategies. The groups are repetitive and I think the groups should be smaller so you can speak about your problems more and try to solve them.”
Still, other provided extremely high praise, with alum T.J. noting they would recommend the facility to others and explaining, "Because of the quality of care and guidance recieved." Indeed, counseling options typically received above-average ratings from reviewers to date, and R.H. added, "Friendly staff, we'll educated in addiction, 12 step oriented" as a facility strength.

Reviews from over a dozen loved ones to date were quite mixed. While one of these loved ones wrote, "It is a great facility highly recommended," and provided four-star ratings for staff experience, counseling options, and affordability, another commented, "Not at all impressed with this facility," and gave two stars for holistic offerings and treatment of co-occurring disorders.
Overall, however, the eight loved ones polled on the matters gave above-average to average ratings for the the level of family participation, connectivity with loved ones, and for the likelihood they'd recommend the facility to others. Many loved ones also praised the staff. "They listened to your problems and treated you well," one family member wrote.

WHAT STAFF SAY
At the time of this writing, several staffers provided extremely positive feedback in regards to the facility. Of six employees surveyed on the center's treatment of co-occurring disorders, five gave perfect five-star ratings, and one gave a high, four-star rating. Similarly, high ratings were provided for the experience of the addiction staff, the experience of the mental health staff, and the fairness of facility pricing. "Extremely qualified and caring staff that provide quality drug, alcohol and mental health treatment services to our conusmers," one staffer wrote. Another noted, "majority of staff is in 12 step recovery themselves."

According to its website, Greenbriar Treatment Center accepts some insurance providers and private pay. To date, the 28 individuals polled on the matter by Rehabs.com generally approved of the facility's cost.
