  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.

Rehabs 360 Guide

Grace Counseling, located in Lewisville, Texas, provides full-service counseling to people with mental health and/or behavioral health concerns, including outpatient-based programs for adults and adolescents dealing with substance misuse and co-occurring disorders. Counseling for mood disorders and binge-eating disorders as well as a women-only intensive outpatient program (IOP) are also available. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may also be offered if needed. Grace Counseling has a second location in Fort Worth, Texas.

Treatment begins with a no-cost screening and assessment to develop an individualized treatment program. Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) for substance misuse meets three times per week and incorporates educational workshops, counseling groups utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and relapse prevention classes.

Adolescents (aged 13 to 17) and adults enrolled in the program will also be introduced to 12-Step and will undergo treatment following the Matrix Model, a system that blends counseling, 12-Step, and other evidence-based therapies. During treatment, counselors create, modify, and assess the progress of goals with clients.

Specialized counseling groups, such as gender-specific or issue-focused, are also available to further personalize treatment. Grace Counseling recommends family involvement in treatment and offers family and couples counseling. Morning and evening group sessions are available to accommodate clients' schedules

Grace Counseling's Lewisville location employs licensed chemical dependency counselors, licensed professional counselors, licensed professional counselors, clinical social workers, and a licensed marriage and family therapist.

B.O., the sole alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, gave the facility perfect five-out-of-five-star ratings to all metrics evaluated, including the facility's counseling options, the staff's level of experience and training, and the amount of family participation. "Helping services with care," they wrote.

Secondary sources also revealed highly positive alumni opinions. On Google, Grace Counseling received an average 4.7 out of five stars based on 15 reviews.[1] Nearly all of the 15 alumni gave five-star ratings, most of whom praised the facility's staff, in particular. "The counselors at Grace Counseling are very knowledgeable and have been lead by a super director," wrote John, a representative reviewer. On Facebook, which the facility has the ability to manage, 11 alumni echoed this sentiment regarding the facility's staff.[2]

Grace Counseling received only two negative reviews on secondary review sites. The lone alum to leave negative feedback, Pixel Tub, wrote, "I called for a dietation, but they scheduled me with a mental health doctor instead. Wasted my time to drive here."

Though Rehabs.com has not yet received any feedback from staff members to date, third-party sites yielded positive reviews from employees. Of five staff members to review Grace Counseling, most praised their coworkers skills and experience.[3] The sole staff member to leave feedback regarding treatment of patients wrote, "We function like a family and everyone here really cares for the clients and wants to see them succeed."

On the facility's Facebook page, a former employee who completed their practicum there wrote: "The counselors and staff are amazing...You will be very pleased."

Program fees for the intensive outpatient program start at $228.33 per day. The facility accepts most private insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, CIGNA, Aetna, Value Options, and Magellan. The facility also accepts Medicare and provides a sliding scale fee structure that is based on each client’s income. Financial assistance, which may cover up to 100 percent of program cost, is available to qualified individuals.
