I sent my sister here and it was an amazing experience. I myself have been to many different facilities and the level of care she received was above and beyond anything I have experienced. I was very impressed with the one on one family therapy I received. This not only changed my sisters life but taught me a lot about my co dependency.
The counselors are great and knowledgeable. The facility is beautiful and well equipped. The meals were excellent. My son had great experiences in the outside activities. Most importantly, Turning Point dealt with his mental health issues that were causing the substance abuse problems. I thought every member of the staff really cared about him and his recovery. I wish I could give some critique of a weakness in Turning Point but there is nothing that we encountered that would give me any reason to not recommend this facility. Our main reason for choosing Turning Point was that it was not 12-step.. My understanding as I did my research was that with most stays at a 12-step facility, the client does not get through the 12 steps and is usually required to continue on somewhere learning how to implement those steps to recovery. I liked the program at Turning Point that combined his mental health issues with the substance abuse. I also thought my sons counselors were very qualified and we had great family sessions which were a big part of our concern about him. I also wanted him to have plenty of one on one time with his counselor. He received 3 sessions a week.
