Facility Highlights

  • 3 Board-Certified Addiction Psychiatrists, including the former President of ASAM
  • 24/7 Nursing Care
  • Full continuum of care: RTC, PHP, IOP, V-IOP & Sober Living

  • Detox

Though not all rehab facilities offer “medical detoxification,” all people with an addiction to drugs or alcohol will experience intense physical and emotional changes and discomfort as their bodies react to withdrawal of the addictive substance. Many people use the term “detox” to refer to the period of time (ranging from a few days to a week) when the body is reacting to an addict’s decision to stop using.
  • Aftercare Support

Addiction recovery does not end with discharge after completing a rehab program. Facilities that offer aftercare planning and/or support work with patients to ensure sustainable recovery by helping to plan and make arrangements for transitional or sober living, help with housing, vocational counseling, etc.

Rehabs 360 Guide

Recovery Ways, located in Murray, Utah, offers residential and outpatient treatment to adults struggling with alcohol, substance abuse, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Recovery Ways operates four locations throughout Utah.

The facility’s treatment program follows holistic and individualized approach to treatment. The average length of stay varies for each client depending on what substance was being abused, the severity of their addiction, if the client has been through rehab before, and if they also require treatment for co-occurring disorders. Inpatient detoxification services are available through a relationship with the University Neuropsychiatric Institute at the University of Utah.

Throughout treatment, clients receive a minimum of eight hours of programming each day including individual and small group counseling sessions. Sessions focus on understanding the disease of addiction, psychological triggers, and the recovery process. This facility also offers unique treatments and therapy including sensory integration and recreation therapy. Medication management is available, especially for clients with co-occurring disorders. Families are considered an integral part of the treatment program and free services are offered to family members of clients in treatment.

Aftercare is available for all clients who successfully complete the program. Alumni are eligible to attend seminars and workshops that address topics such as relapse prevention, lifestyle planning for substance free life, family workshops, and more. There is also an alumni program for clients to stay in touch with each other and the program for additional support after treatment.

Outpatient services offered by Recovery Ways includes a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP), and sober living residences. PHP and IOP offer similar treatment methods to the residential program but also allow clients to sleep at home and maintain a work or school schedule. Sober Living Recovery Residences allow clients to continue their addiction treatment in a sober environment as they begin to transition back into their communities and participate in a PHP or IOP.

The treatment team includes physicians, an addictionologist, psychiatrists, and Ph.D. and Master’s level licensed professionals.

The facility offers a home-like comfortable setting for clients. During their stay, clients enjoy amenities such as chef prepared meals, a fitness program, sensory integration rooms, and comfortable communal lounge areas. Clients are allowed supervised phone and Internet access as well as washer and drier access for laundry.

At the time of this writing there has been one alum, A.W., polled by Rehabs.com. A.W. had many mixed opinions of the facility and overall indicated that he would not recommend this facility to a friend or loved one who was considering rehab. A.W. though highly of the staff's level of training and experience, and appreciated that family and loved ones were able to participate in treatment through facility programming.

However, while alum A.W. considered the staff to be well-trained and experience, A.W also noted that there were several members of the staff they described as "horrible." Additionally, the alum also rated the counseling options poorly and appeared to want more intimate counseling: “Very little personal counseling.”

On the facility’s Google page, there is an overall rating of 4.3 out of five stars based on 13 total reviews for the Mountain View location, indicating generally positive feedback.[1] Reviewer R.W. gave a perfect five star rating and praised the staff: "Extremely knowledgeable and trained...very compassionate group of people." Reviewer S.F. echoed that sentiment: "They do a great job and really care about the people that come to them!"

Two negative reviewers wrote about a stressful environment and a lack of coordination among staff members and therapists at the facility. One anonymous reviewer wrote, "Therapists and management never know whats going on or how to handle things." Many reviewers, positive and negative, noted the high price of treatment as well.

The only friend or family member polled by Rehabs.com to date gave a lukewarm review.

Loved one M.B. rated the facility's affordability, the staff's level of training and experience, and the 12-step inclustion highly. Additionally, they wrote that the facility was clean and the staff was professional. However, much like the negative Google reviewers, M.B. commented about "poor upper management" and high employee turnover. The loved one wrote: "It was once a great place to send people to get treatment. It is now mediocre."

The cost of treatment at the facility is not published. The facility accepts most major private health insurance plans. Limited payment plan assistance is available for those who qualify.
