I started attending Evergreen at Northpoint in June of 2017, when I left Northpoint in Boise. I went through PHP, IOP, OP, and now I am in relapse prevention. I can honestly say that Evergreen saved my life. I was in and out of these rooms upon arriving, and I am now coming up on one year clean. This is the most amount of clean time I’ve had in 10 years! This program not only helped me stay sober, but the staff always went to extra mile to make sure our needs were met and educated us as well as encouraged us to continue to the path of recovery. I would recomend this place to anyone because of how much they helped me.
My state of mind going in was... There was nothing more important to me than sobriety. Most people were in the same boat, they were motivated and single minded in their reason to be at SSH. I found success was easy for me after the program, but then again I didn\'t have a lot off issues waiting back home. If you have issues be ready to deal with them, SSH gives you an opportunity to deal with them while being sober. SSH provides suggestions for follow up counciling if you or your family needs it, don\'t ignore it start that process immediately. I tried to stop drinking before, and every time I tried it only got worse. In 10 days I had no cravings for alcohol for the first time in 15 years. The aversion therapy works, but you\'ve got to want it, or you will waste your money because you walk right back to the bottle. \"Don\'t take that 1st drink\"
I was a supportive family member for my nephew along with his mother. My nephew may live. He would surely have continued to be very unhappy and had a very short life or ended up in jail without the help. This facility does an excellent job. I benefited a great deal as a supportive family member from the intensive work. My only suggestion is that the facility should use potable water to make ice so people can put it in beverages.
